A nearly 30 year age gap will not be enough for Logan Paul to hang with “Iron” Mike Tyson in the boxing ring, says former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight titleholder Michael Bisping.
A boxing match pitting Tyson vs. Paul is reportedly in the works for Feb. 2022. It is unclear if the contest between 55-year-old Tyson (50-6, 1 NC) and 26-year-old Paul (0-1) will be contested as an exhibition or professional bout. If knockouts are permitted; however, Bisping expects “The Baddest Man on the Planet” to smoke social influencer Paul.
“Logan, you know, he’s tall, you know, he’s long. He’s kind of a big guy, he’s athletic,” Bisping said in a video for his official YouTube channel (h/t SportsKeeda). “He’s got a great physique. Jake Paul is by far the better boxer I would say. If I had to pick who was better then I’d say Jake Paul’s way better but Logan, you know, he has some skills. He can certainly punch and as I say, he’s big and he’s athletic and he’ll learn from the fight against Floyd.
“Maybe he’ll learn to manage his gas tank a little better. But there’s just no way I don’t see Mike Tyson going out there and absolutely flatlining him.”
Tyson came out of retirement in Nov. 2020 for an exhibition boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. (watch highlights here). The general consensus is that Tyson looked to be sharp and in phenomenal shape considering his 15-year layoff. Paul most recently boxed Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0) in an eight-round exhibition snoozefest (highlights, sort of). He lost his only career pro boxing match to fellow YouTuber KSI.
