The Colorado Avalanche put together a deflating performance on Saturday (April 13) against the Winnipeg Jets. The Avs were outplayed entirely, and the Jets defeated them by a massive 7-0 final score.
Seeing the Avalanche put together a game like this with the playoffs right around the corner is alarming. This is especially so when noting that the Jets will officially be the Avalanche’s opponent in the first round.

Thankfully, this matchup was a regular-season game and not a postseason game. However, at the same time, the Jets must be feeling some confidence about their upcoming series against the Avalanche after their dominant victory.
It is apparent that the Avalanche need to bounce back before the playoffs are here. They have lost three out of their last four games and have been outscored 22-11 over that span. That is an alarming margin. They also have won only four out of their last 10 games.
When the Avalanche are playing their best, they are easily among the top contenders in the league. They will now look to heat back up over these last two games of the regular season so they enter the postseason with confidence. Ending the year with wins over the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers would give them just that.
