PM Modi to visit Jharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar on March 1-2: Here’s the full schedule

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day tour of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar on March 1 and 2, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects including those related to rail, road and power.

Here is the full schedule of his two-day tri-state tour:

March 1, 2024

11 am – Sindri, Jharkhand

PM Modi will reach Sindri, Dhanbad, Jharkhand around 11 am Friday. He will participate in a public programme to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth Rs 35,700 crore in Jharkhand.

The railway sector in the state is set to get a major boost as the PM will flag off three new trains.

On Friday, PM Modi will also dedicate the revived Sindri fertiliser plant, managed by Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited, in Jharkhand. This will be the third fertiliser plant to be revived in the country following those in Gorakhpur and Ramagundam, as per the PMO.

Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan, CM Champai Soren and Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya will be present during the event, as per a ministry release.

Further, he will also dedicate the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project in Jharkhand’s Chatra district to the nation.

3 pm – Hooghly, West Bengal

The PM is scheduled to arrive in West Bengal on Friday afternoon. According to his schedule, PM Modi will stay at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata.

Later, he is expected to address a public gathering at Arambagh in Hooghly district and dedicate projects worth Rs 7,200 crore in the area.

He will also dedicate to nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple projects for strengthening of infrastructure at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata worth about Rs 1000 crore. The new projects at the port will boost the productivity of the port substantially by helping in faster and safer cargo handling and evacuation, as per the official release.

The other projects to be inaugurated include important rail projects worth about Rs 2680 crore.

March 2, 2024

10.30 am – Nadia, West Bengal

On Saturday, he will visit the Nadia district to address a public meeting and inaugurate projects in Krishnanagar worth Rs 15,000 crore.

Overall, he is set to lay foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth Rs 22,000 crore in the state, as per an official release from the PMO.

“The PM will return to the state on March 6 to address a rally at Barasat in North 24 Parganas,” West Bengal’s BJP president Sukanta Majumdar said.

2.30 pm – Aurangabad, Bihar

As per the official schedule, the Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate, dedicate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth Rs 21,400 crore in Bihar’s Aurangabad on Saturday afternoon.

Modi will also lay the foundation stone of the six lane bridge across River Ganga that will be developed as a part of Patna Ring Road. “This bridge will be one of the longest river bridges in the country. This project will decongest traffic through Patna city and provide faster and better connectivity between North and South parts of Bihar, promoting socio-economic growth of the entire region,” the release read.

He will also lay the foundation stone of Unity Mall in Patna worth more than Rs 200 crore.

5.15 pm – Begusarai, Bihar

Then, Modi will reach Begusarai and inaugurate multiple oil and gas sector projects worth about Rs 1.48 lakh crore across the country. The projects are spread across the country in various states like Bihar, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Karnataka along with KG Basin, according to the PMO.

For Bihar, the PM is set to inaugurate several development projects worth more than Rs 13,400 on Saturday.

Further, PM Modi will also launch ‘1962 Farmers App’, an app which records all data and information present under the ‘Bharat Pashudhan’ database, for the country’s farmers. The digital database for livestock animals has been developed under the National Digital Livestock Mission (NDLM), as per the release from the PMO.
