Met Office Sunday morning weather forecast 05/05/2024
Good morning and welcome to a national morning. Weather update from the Met Office is a mixed picture for the rest of the Bank holiday weekend. Sunny spells for some but also some outbreaks of rain or showers and this is due with low pressure generally dominating especially across the South of England on Monday with longer spells of rain possible here but back to this morning. Plenty of sunshine across Wales, the Midlands and also the southeast, but cloudier conditions still remaining across Northern Ireland and also across Scotland with some showery outbreaks of rain, especially across eastern areas where we could see some heavier showers developing later. Some of these could be thundery too, further towards southwest. This is that weather front bringing some showery outbreaks of rain and cloudy conditions for a time, but there are still going to be some decent sunny breaks and where you do see. Sunny breaks Temperatures could feel warmer with temperatures up to 18, possibly 20° across the slice of the UK. Into the afternoon and evening time that cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain continues to push up, affecting northern Wales but also coming into southeastern parts of England through the night. And some of this rain could turn quite heavy at times too, saying rather cloudy. Elsewhere We will see some clearer spells developing, and where we see the clearer spells developing across northern England and possibly the Midlands, we could see temperatures fall here, but also some mist and fog patches developing. But there is a lot of cloud around so temperatures generally are going to be holding. Holding above a freezing, but probably turning a little bit chilly. Under the clearest skies further towards northeastern England. So for Bank Holiday Monday, it could be quite a disappointing start across southeastern England with outbreaks of rain. Some of this could be on the heavy side throughout the day, though it is going to be a case of sunny spells and showers bubbling up. Some of these showers could be on the heavy side so you might need a brolly if you are out and about but cloudy conditions remaining across Northern Ireland. parts of Scotland but we could see some brighter skies developing across western parts. But like I said, it is going to be hit and miss with the showers. But where you do see the sunny breaks, temperatures can be feeling quite warm with highs of 18 or 19°. Through there is a chance of higher pressure dominating as we go into Tuesday and more so into Wednesday. But for more details on that, subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss a forecast.
