Met Office Sunday Evening Weather Forecast 05/05/2024
Hello, welcome to your evening weather forecast from the Met Office. It’s been a mixed picture wherever you’ve been across the UK with outbreaks of rain or some people have seen some sunny spells through the rest of this evening. Cloud and rain is going to continue to push its way northwards, affecting much of Wales but generally fizzling out as we go through the night, holding on to cloudy conditions across Northern Ireland and Scotland, with some heavier outbreaks of rain affecting northern parts of Scotland. But there will be some clearer spells in between where we see the clear spells, see some low cloud, mist and Merc, But with a lot of cloud around, temperatures are generally going to be holding up. With temperatures around 11 or even 12°. Bank Holiday Monday then it starts off a rather cloudy note, a lot of low cloud generally lifting and breaking but showers still affecting northeastern parts of Scotland, turning a little bit drier across Northern Ireland but cloudy here. Outbreaks of rain affecting the southeast and areas could be heavy at times, but in between that we will see some sunny spells but also some showers breaking out. And some of these could be on the heavy side. So temperatures are generally going to be around average underneath any cloudy conditions and rain. But where we see some sunny breaks that’s where the temperatures will rise and we could see highs of 18 or 19° so hopefully feeling pleasant if you do miss one of those showers. As we go through the rest of Monday evening, the showers are generally going to start fading away. That cloud and outbreaks of rain across the southeast of England should generally move its way southwards. Many places are seeing a largely dry night, but still quite a lot of cloud around and then temperatures still staying rather above freezing, so many places holding up around 11 or 10°. But in the rural spots we could see it turn a little bit chilly under the clearest skies. So generally most places seeing a largely dry start to Tuesday. Some bright spells, especially across Northern Ireland and across East Anglia and across the southeast. But there is still quite a lot of cloud around, especially across Northeastern coast On Tuesday. Could linger here for a time where we see the sunshine again. Showers could break out, but not as heavy as what we’ll see on Monday and not as frequent either. So many places seeing a largely dry picture. Temperatures then generally still around average but feeling warm where we see the sunshine highs of 19, possibly 20°. As we go through the latter half of the week we suggest higher pressure starting to build. That brings settled conditions. Also temperatures rising.
