The casting of McDonough follows some controversy associated with the production of the series. In April, Stallone had been accused of making insulting comments about the background extras who’d been hired to appear in a scene. This ultimately led to the casting director to leave the production, though director Craig Zisk denied that such comments were made about any of the talents.
Season 1 of Tulsa King debuted in November 2022 on Paramount+. It was later screened on Paramount Network because of its success on streaming. Pulling in high viewership on arrival resulted in the series getting a quick renewal for Season 2, though the strikes of 2023 would cause production to be pushed back. The production on the new season officially began on April 1, though it hasn’t been announced just yet just how soon fans will be able to see the new episodes on streaming.
The first season of Tulsa King is streaming on Paramount+ while season 2 doesn’t yet have a set premiere date.
