Mazda's total sales in January reaches to 3,230 units, Offers special deal “MAZDA SEASON OF LUCK” to customers

Bangkok, Thailand – 7 February 2022 – Mazda was very popular in firth month with the recovery of sales in January that reached to 3,230 units. Especially the Mazda2 that had cumulative sales at almost 2,000 units, increased by 28% and hit the highest record during the past one year. The crossover SUV’s was also popular with cumulative sales of 1,100 units and Platinum Quartz was the most popular color that created a new trend, accounted for 30% of total sales.

Mazda points out that automotive market is recovering and it plans to provide special deals to customers with MAZDA SEASON OF LUCK during 12 – 20 February 2022 by offering minimum 0% interest rate*, free 1-year Mazda Premium Insurance* and a free gift with maximum value of 2,990 Baht*. Aftersales service campaign is also provided from today to 28 February 2022 with 0% interest rate up to 10 months*, receive up to 8,000 Baht cash rebate* and receive up to 13%* discount when redeem point. In addition, customers who purchase products and services are eligible for a tax deduction equivalent to the amount spent, up to a maximum of 30,000 Baht under “Shop Dee Mee Kuen” (shop and Payback) scheme.

Mr. Thee Permpongpanth, Senior Vice President of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said, “After Mazda has introduced new models in both passenger car and crossover SUV to the market, as a result, the sales volume in January 2022 increased and was more than the sales volume in January 2021. Mazda’s cumulative sales of January 2022 was 3,230 units, increased by 2%. It was the first time that the sales increased over the past 6 months. The sales can be divided into 2,061 units of passenger car, which increased by 16% and comprised of 1,980 units of Mazda2, 81 units of Mazda3. The crossover SUV’s cumulative sales was 1,105 units, which decreased slightly by 4% and can be divided into 462 units of CX-3, 380 units of CX-30, 169 units of CX-8 and 94 units of CX-5 while the pick-up truck Mazda BT-50 contributed another 64 units. From this sales figure, the Platinum Quartz was the most popular color that customer selected, which accounted for a percentage of 30%.

The most important factor helping Mazda to achieve it sales performance in January was the launch of new models that equipped with more features while the retail price is the same. The result is that Mazda’s new model became more value for money with the high quality of material provided. Hence, all Mazda vehicles were very popular among Thai customers; especially, the Mazda2 that became popular again as the same as the crossover SUV, not only the CX-3 and CX-30 but also the CX-5 and the CX-8. Mazda believed that customer demand was still high but due to the shortage of semi-conductor component, we were unable to produce the vehicles to serve all of those demand. Today, the situation has been improved; especially the Covid-19 that had been the most crucial factor because it was likely to be declared as an epidemic instead of pandemic. Hence, this factor will no longer be a problem and people have adapted well to the new normal. This will allow Mazda to be able to produce cars to deliver to customers at full capacity.

Mr. Thee added, Mazda has prepared a countermeasure to drive sales in order to meet its sales goals. Particularly the Mazda3 passenger car, Mazda is starting to produce and prepare for update to meet the needs of customers. The new model will be launched in mid-February and will be ready to deliver to customers immediately. Hence, we believe that this updated model will make the sales of Mazda3 rise again. For the BT-50 pick-up truck, Mazda has planned to organize more activities in each region to meet the exact need of the target customers as much as possible.

Moreover, Mazda plans to offer a special promotional campaign, “MAZDA SEASON OF LUCK” to customers who would like to purchase a new vehicle with a minimum 0% interest rate* and free 1-year Mazda Premium Insurance*. For the first 500 customers who pay 5,000 Baht for Mazda CX-3, CX-30, CX-5 and CX-8 booking and receive the vehicle within 28 February 2022 will receive a car air purifier from SHARP valued 2,990 Baht*. In addition, the first 400 customers who pay the same amount to reserve Mazda2, Mazda3 and Mazda BT-50 will receive SONY XB13 Extra Bass Portable Wireless Speaker valued 1,990 Baht. These special deals will be provided during 12 – 20 February 2022 at Mazda showrooms.
