As all five Spice Girls gathered together to party the night away to celebrate Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday, fans were perfectly within their rights to assume that the possibility of a reunion tour could be a reality.
News of another tour has been circulating for some time as it has been 12 years since all five ladies, Geri Horner, Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Victoria, were last on stage. But now, Mel B, better known as Scary Spice, has teased fans that the rumour mill may actually become a reality, if her latest social media post is anything to go by.
Mel took to Instagram to reveal that all of them – Victoria included – are planning a major tour. This comes after she initially hinted at a reunion to celebrate their 30th reunion in her most recent book. Sharing David Beckham’s video of all of the ladies dancing together, she captioned the clip: “About last night”, and then decided to include a hashtag with the words “tour dates coming soon”.
And plans of a reunion were further confirmed after Victoria also posted a message on her Instagram stories telling fans how much she loved them her bandmates and included the hashtag “SpiceUpYourLife”. The Spice Girls last performed together in 2012. Since taking the world by storm in the nineties, the group have managed to maintain a strong bond.
And in her book, Mel makes mention of this, as it helped her to recover from her toxic marriage. She wrote: “I am getting better. The therapy is working. I am working on it. Someday soon I do believe things will improve. The Spice Girls will all be out there, all five of us together again – yes, I’m saying it, it will happen.”

Most recently, Geri has been at the centre of a scandal after her husband Christian Horner was accused of “inappropriate behaviour” towards a female colleague. He was cleared of the allegation following an investigation. But Mel admitted that all of them gathered around Geri during this time to support her through what would have been an incredibly difficult time.
In an exclusive chat with the Irish Mirror, Mel said: “We would literally take a bullet for each other. She knows that she has the four of us with her.” She added: “Oh God, we are all so supportive of each other, we would literally take a bullet for each other. Between the four of us we’ve all been messaging her, I sent a message to her earlier. I just feel for her, and… oh my God. I just feel sad. But she knows she has us four that are with her.”
Mel continued: “Because I don’t really know the ins and outs, all I see is: ‘That’s my friend and I know what she’s going through is really tough.’ All you can do is be there, just like the girls have been there for me, all I can do is be there for Geri. But it is horrible to see your friend going through something – something that you don’t quite know what it is – but that’s your friend and you want to protect her, no matter what.”
The mum of three then told us last month: “What us five have been through in the 30 years we’ve known each other, that’s a solid bond. I remember when I was getting my first divorce, and my then-husband wouldn’t move out of my house. I called the girls first. I think it was Mel who said to me: ‘Get your baby and come stay with me,’ and Emma had the house opposite, and I was just protected by my girls. That was it. That is our friendship.”
