Manila Stars list Greg Slaughter as reserve player for upcoming MPBL season
GREG Slaughter has been listed as a reserve for Manila Stars in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.
The Stars posted its roster on their Facebook page with Slaughter’s name on the list.
Joining him on the reserve list were Blackwater player James Sena, PBA 3×3 cager Jorey Napoles, and Mike Tolomia.
Manila’s move to list Slaughter in the roster is allowed in the MPBL even as the former Barangay Ginebra and NorthPort cager is still playing for Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka in the B2 League of Japan.
With Slaughter in the line-up, Manila can field Slaughter any time during the season once his contract expires with Fukuoka.
Slaughter is now in line to play alongside fellow former Ateneo big man Rabeh Al-Hussaini, who has also joined the Stars after taking a respite in basketball.
Manila, coached by Gabby Severino, also has ex-pros Carl Bryan Cruz, Pao Javelona, and Jan Jamon, and former Iloilo point guard and NLEX draftee Lorenzo Navarro.
Interestingly, also in Manila’s roster is Shawn Umali, who recently moved from Lyceum to College of Saint Benilde in the NCAA.
