Trump complains that AI was used to make him look fat while golfing

The camera added more than 10 pounds.

Former President Donald Trump raged on social media Friday, claiming that media outlets used artificial intelligence to create a fake photo of him on the golf course with a massive gut.

“The Fake News used Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to create the picture on the top left,” Trump, 77, wrote on Truth Social. “These are despicable people, but everyone knows that.”

The unflattering image is purportedly of the former commander in chief mid-swing, with his bulging midsection pressed firmly against the fabric of his shirt.

The image, however, while digitally altered, is not the work of artificial intelligence.

It dates back to 2017, according to fact-checking site Snopes, and is a legitimate photograph of professional golfer John Daly — a Trump supporter — with the former president’s head superimposed over the 1991 PGA Championship and 1995 Open Championship winner.

Trump, who listed his weight at 215 pounds after he surrendered to Fulton County authorities last August, included actual photos of him golfing Friday in his Truth Social post “to show the difference.”

“Sadly, in our Country, Fake News is all you get!” he fumed.

Trump shared actual photos of him golfing Friday, the same day a judge ordered him to pay $355 million as part of a civil fraud lawsuit. Donald J. Trump/Truth Social

It’s unclear which media outlets, if any, shared the Trump-Daly mashup photo.

The Trump campaign did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.

The 2024 GOP presidential front-runner’s post came shortly after a New York judge ordered that he pay $355 million and be temporarily banned from doing business in the Empire State for inflating his net worth by billions to secure loans and deals from banks and insurers.
