Modi In MP: PM Launches Projects Worth Rs 7,550 Crore In Tribal Dominated Jhabua

PM Modi In MP: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth Rs 7,550 crore in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua district today. This comes ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, which are slated to be held in a few months.

It is pertinent to mention that this is the first visit of PM Modi to the state ahead of the 2024 poll and it witnessed tribals from across the country taking part in the congregation at Gopalpura, PTI reported.

PM Modi’s tribal outreach campaign in the state is significant as Madhya Pradesh has the six highest Lok Sabha seats reserved for tribals. During the visit, the Prime Minister will also distribute monthly instalments to almost two lakh women beneficiaries of the Aahar Anudan Yojana under which Rs 1,500 is provided per month for nutritious food to women from especially the backward tribes.

Further, PM Modi will distribute 1.75 lakh ‘adhikar abhilekh’ or records of land rights under the SVAMITVA scheme which will allow people to have documentary evidence for the right to their land.

PM Modi also unveiled multiple projects to strengthen the water supply and provisioning of drinking water in Madhya Pradesh. He also laid the foundation stones for the ‘Talavada Project’ — a drinking water supply scheme that will help over a thousand villages of Dhar and Ratlam, and 14 urban water supply schemes under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 that will benefit more than 50,000 urban households across multiple districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Apart from these, the Prime Minister will launch the ‘Nal Jal Yojana’ for 50 gram panchayats of Jhabua, which will provide tap water to about 11,000 households. Apart from these, he will also unveil multiple rail projects which include the redevelopment of Ratlam railway station and Meghnagar railway station under the Amrit Bharat station scheme. The projects will also include the doubling of the Indore-Dewas-Ujjain C cabin railway line, the Itarsi-North-South grade separator with yard remodelling and the third line connecting Barkhera-Budni-Itarsi.

During his programme, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Tantya Mama Bhil University for the youths belonging to the tribal-dominated districts of the state. The university which will be built for Rs 170 crore will provide world-class infrastructure for the students, the official statement said.

He will also lay the foundation stone for the ‘CM Rise School’ in Jhabua. The school promises to integrate technology to provide facilities such as smart classes and, e-Library, among others to students.

During this visit, the Prime Minister will also transfer funds of Rs 55.9 crore for 559 villages under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana to be used for construction activities, including Anganwadi Bhawans, fair price shops, health centres, additional rooms in schools, internal roads, among others.
