Maple Leafs Game 5 Starter Revealed
The Boston Bruins have a massive Game 5 matchup on Tuesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. If they secure a victory, they will officially win the series and move on to the second round.
With the Maple Leafs on the verge of elimination, they are making a change between the pipes for Game 5. According to Mark Masters of TSN, Joseph Woll was not on the Maple Leafs’ morning skate. This indicates that the Missouri native will likely be the club’s starter for the matchup.
Seeing the Maple Leafs making a change in goal is understandable. Ilya Samsonov has had a shaky series against the Bruins, posting a .883 SV% in his four appearances. With that, he was pulled in Game 4 by Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe after allowing three goals on 17 shots. From there, Woll saved all five shots he faced in the third period of the matchup.

The Bruins will now look to take advantage of a cold goalie in Woll. In 25 regular-season games this year with the Leafs, Woll had a 12-11-1 record, a .907 SV%, and a 2.94 GAA.
