The Philippine STAR and PhilSTAR L!fe will be carrying excerpts from the interview with Manny Pacquiao, who talked about his take on mining, how he’ll address joblessness and hunger in the country, and the criticisms he received on his opposition to homosexuality.

ON MINING & THE ENVIRONMENT

Global Tech News Daily

Where do you stand on the issue of sustainable versus a total ban on mining? Why?

Global Tech News Daily

Even before, sabi nga ng Panginoon: “I’m bringing you into a good land…a land where the rocks are iron, and you can dig copper out of the hills.” Meaning to say, that’s possible.

Diyan tayo galing.

ON COVID-19 AND THE PANDEMICGiven the unpredictability and viciousness of this virus, what would be your program to combat COVID-19?

ON JOBLESSNESSHow will you deal with the urgent problems of joblessness and hunger in the country if you become President?

So paano sila mabigyan ng trabaho?

P700 billion or more pa ang napupunta sa corruption.

Wala silang kawala.

ON EDUCATIONAng gagawin natin, libreng edukasyon. So may bayad pa rin. After that, bibigyan ka ng permit/ certification.

ON OFW/ MIGRANTSHow will you balance the economic contribution of OFWs and the unquantifiable social cost of migration?

To do this, dapat may political will ka.

ON SOCIAL MEDIA, PROLIFERATION OF PORNOGRAPHYHow will you handle the issue of cyberporn?

ON RAPE-RELATED ABORTIONIs it time to enact a law on abortion that would allow pregnant rape victims the choice of legal and safe abortion?

I’m against abortion. Ayaw natin ng abortion. Wala namang kasalanan ‘yung bata, May healing pa naman eh. May pagbabago pa.

ON DRUGSAre we already a narco country? What is your program to counter the drug problem?

Itutuloy natin ‘yang war on drugs sa bansa natin.

ON PHILIPPINE DEBT

If you win as President of the Philippines, how will you tackle the payment of our national debt?

ON THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEAIf all diplomatic efforts fail, as President, do you think the Philippines is strong enough and prepared to fight a defensive war against China to protect our territorial soil?

Huwag tayo magpa-sindak. Ipaglaban ang atin at pag-usapan natin in the right way.

ON PRESIDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSIs it high time to amend the Constitution on the qualifications to run for President of the country?

ON PERSONAL ISSUES

Naniniwala kasi ako na gay love is equal to all forms of human love. ‘Yung nararamdaman mo, I love you as my brother. I love everyone as my brothers and sisters.

A: May corruption issue.

A: Hindi ko alam.

A: Hindi ko alam.

A: May bahid ng korapsyon.

Q: On Duterte and the ICC’s desire to investigate crimes against humanity for the sake of the victims. Will you allow ICC?

Papayagan natin. Pero unang-una, gusto din nating respetuhin ang desisyon ng Pangulo kasi that’s his prerogative as our Chief Executive.
