UE star Remogat still undecided as overseas teams, other shools reach out

BREAKING his silence amid rumors of his transfer, Rey Remogat insisted he has yet to decide on where to take his talent next.

“Status quo, wala pang final na decision from me and my family,” University of the East’s do-it-all guard said on Friday, adding he isn’t even sure about leaving the Warriors.

The 20-year-old said he has asked for a week-long extension to make his call.

While the UP Maroons are believed to be the frontrunners to get him, Remogat said it’s not just local schools that have reached out but also pro teams from overseas.

“Meron din kasing mga offers sa pros sa ibang bansa, isa na rin ‘yun sa reasons kung aalis ako or mag-stay,” he said.

Pressed to comment on any interest in Remogat, a top UP Maroons official said the two camps are still ‘on the talking stage.’

While his career is on the up at UE, the UAAP Season 86 Mythical Team member said any decision on his future will be for the sake of his family.

“Mahal ko UE, pero [iniisip] ko rin mag-pro para sa pamilya ko. Personal reasons kaya naiintindihan ng UE management… sabi nila susuportahan nila ko, kung ano plano ko sasabihin ko out of respect.”

Sophomore Remogat averaged 16.5 points, league-high 7.9 assists, 6.4 boards, and 2.0 steals for the Warriors last season.

He also clarified that there’s no bad blood between him and the Red Warriors.

“Naiintindihan nila [UE] ang reason ko, sa nangyayari sa family ko,” he said.
