Mangsa tak setuju PRU15 diadakan pada musim banjir

Mangsa-mangsa banjir di negara ini tidak bersetuju dengan desakan kem Presiden Umno, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yang mahu Pilihan Raya Umum ke-15 (PRU15) diadakan pada tahun ini juga sekalipun berdepan dengan bencana banjir.

Minggu lalu Zahid berkata Barisan Nasional (BN) sanggup meredah banjir jika berlaku bencana itu ketika kempen PRU15, sekiranya Parlimen dibubarkan dalam masa terdekat.

Abdul Rahman Said, 71 yang kehilangan isteri, menantu dan anak berusia 14 tahun dalam banjir di Iboi, Kedah bulan Julai lalu berkata, tindakan mengadakan pilihan raya itu dilihat pada musim banjir dilihat tergesa-gesa.

“Kalau berlaku banjir, pengundi tak fikir hendak pergi mengundi.

“Keselamatan dan nyawa lebih penting,” katanya kepada MalaysiaNow.

Sambil menyifatkan tindakan pihak yang mendesak PRU15 sebagai kalut, warga emas itu berkata banjir yang berlaku pada hujung tahun bukan berskala kecil, apatah lagi di tempat seperti Pantai Timur.

Katanya, dia dan mangsa-mangsa banjir lain di Iboi baru menyerahkan memorandum kepada perdana menteri pada 1 September lepas bagi menuntut sedikit pampasan.

Menurut Rahman, pampasan tersebut bagi mengisi barangan keperluan dalam rumah yang bakal mereka terima.

“Rumah baru yang dijanjikan pun ada yang sedang dibina, ada yang belum dibina,” katanya.

Perdana Menteri Ismail Sabri Yaakob pula mengumumkan pembubaran Parlimen akan diadakan “sedikit masa” lagi.

Rata-rata pemerhati beranggapan Parlimen mungkin dibubarkan selepas pembentangan Belanjawan 2023 yang dijadualkan pada 7 Oktober ini.

Penggal PRU14 lalu sepatutnya tamat pada Julai tahun depan.

Sebelum ini, MalaysiaNow melaporkan PRU15 akan diadakan dalam keadaan banjir kilat dan ribut petir jika diadakan pada hujung tahun ini, akibat musim peralihan monsun.

Sementara itu, Safarina Napiah, 40, yang turut menjadi mangsa banjir di Iboi berkata, dia tidak bersetuju dengan tindakan kerajaan mengadakan pilihan raya ketika bencana.

“Keadaan hari itu pun jadi kucar-kacir, apatah lagi kalau ada pilihan raya.

“Saya sendiri masih dalam proses membaiki rumah selepas kejadian tempoh hari,” katanya yang kehilangan hampir 100% harta benda selepas banjir tersebut.

Menurut Safarina, dia menggunakan duit sendiri untuk membaiki rumahnya.

Menurut wanita itu, dia dan keluarga tidak bersemangat untuk merasai kehangatan kempen pilihan raya yang kebiasaannya sengit dan meriah.

Mazlan Ali, penganalisis politik daripada Universiti Teknologi Malaysia berkata Ismail kelihatan mengiakan gambaran bahawa PRU15 akan diadakan hujung tahun ini.

“Adakah Ismail akan bubarkan juga? saya fikir ia akan memberi backfire kepada kerajaan kerana Umno kelihatan mengutamakan parti daripada rakyat.

“Kalau berlaku betul-betul berlaku banjir semasa PRU, ramai rakyat tidak akan menyertai proses pilihan raya,” tambahnya.

Mazlan berkata, rutin harian rakyat akan terganggu jika berlaku banjir dan sukar untuk mereka menumpukan kepada proses pilihan raya.

Sebarang keputusan kerajaan katanya wajar mengambil kira faktor-faktor tersebut. Isu-isu lain turut tidak memihak kepada kerajaan.

“Orang akan marah jika pilihan raya diadakan pada musim banjir,” tambahnya.

Bagi Rahman, dia masih memerlukan masa untuk menyesuaikan diri setelah kematian ahli keluarga tercinta. Dia tidak lagi pergi ke kebun getah miliknya, mengenangkan kebun itu diusahakan oleh dia dan isteri.

“Sekarang, tiap kali saya lalu kebun itu, saya terkenangkan dia,” katanya.
