CRISTIANO RONALDO will leave Manchester United this summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, SunSport can reveal.
Portugal captain Ronaldo made his return from injury to start in United's victory over Brentford, though he appeared furious after being substituted and was later seen to be talking it out with boss Ralf Rangnick.
And should the five-time Ballon d'Or winner choose to stay at Man Utd, he will reportedly face a 25 per cent pay cut if they don't make it into Europe's elite club competition.
Meanwhile Ralf Rangnick is reportedly keen to hire Ajax boss Eric ten Hag as the club's permanent manager this summer.
However, not everybody in the United hierarchy is said to share Rangnick's view.
And Man Utd's home kit for the 2022/23 season appears to have been leaked, with fans purring over the retro collar.

Ronaldo factfile
On an individual level, Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Man Utd has been somewhat a success.
The 36-year-old has scored ten-plus goals, proving doubters wrong.
Collectively as a team though, the Red Devils have underperformed and face a fight to finish inside the top-four.
Will Ronaldo stay in Manchester if the Red Devils miss out on Champions League football.

Man Utd beaten to James Beadle
Brighton beat Manchester United AND Chelsea to the signing of England Under-18 star James Beadle.
The 17-year-old has been tipped to become the Three Lions' senior No 1 and the Seagulls swooped to land the promising teen from Charlton right under the noses of the Premier League big boys.
Brighton completed the £400k deal at the turn of the year.
And East Londoner Beadle – who moved into local digs down south – signed pro terms on a two-and-a-half year deal despite technically still being a second-year scholar.
SunSport reported in October Chelsea were eyeing a £400k move.

Title race over
Bruno Fernandes has ruled out man Utd winning the Premier League this season.
United are currently 21 points behind league leaders Man City with 17 games left to go.
Speaking to the club website, Fernandes said: “In the league it is too far now.
“We have to be realistic and we have to fight for the top four and being in the Champions League next season.
“At the same time, fight for the Champions League and the FA Cup. I don’t care what people think or can say about us winning the Champions League or the FA Cup.
“I think we have the chance to win it, the qualities to win it and, most of all, we are in those competitions. Until we are out, we have to believe we can win those competitions.”

'Ambition is the same'
Man Utd midfielder Bruno Fernandes has admitted his ambition is still the same, despite United's recent dip in form.
Speaking to the clubs official website, he said: “My ambition is still the same.
“I want to win trophies with the club. That will always be in my mind until the last day I am at the club.
“I don’t know when that will be but, until then, I will believe that I can win trophies with this club because I think we can and I think the club deserves it, the fans deserve it and also the players, we deserve to win a trophy.
“Whenever that is, we have to do it step by step and understand we have those qualities but we have to understand how to do it, how to put everything together – the qualities and the intensity and everything.”

Amadou Haidara transfer interest
RB Leipzig could sell Manchester United and Newcastle target Amadou Haidara for £46million in the January transfer window, according to reports.
The 23-year-old Mali international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer.
But Sky Deutschland are now claiming he could be sold before the end of the month as Leipzig will struggle to turn down a sizable offer for the midfielder.
Speaking about Haidara, journalist Phillip Hinze said: “I think it gets interesting with everything from £46m upwards.
“At some point it becomes indecent from the RB point of view, you’re almost forced to accept that.
“But before that, Haidara will be left here in Leipzig at least until the summer, because he’s a key anchor in midfield.”

Ronaldo fury highlights
Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo astonishingly stormed off and threw his coat to the floor after interim manager Ralf Rangnick subbed him in the 3-1 win at Brentford.
Ronaldo put his hands on his hips and trudged away after United skipper Harry Maguire replaced him at 2-0 up on 71 minutes.
The Red Devils had turned round a dire first-half to dominate the Bees at the Brentford Community Stadium.
But the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was upset when he was the victim of a double change from Rangnick.
The German coach tried to hug the Portugal international as he went off but Ronaldo had his arms wide open by his side

Don't wreck it, Ralf
Former Manchester United ace Owen Hargreaves warned interim manager Ralf Rangnick that he 'has to be careful' when it comes to managing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hargreaves told Optus Sport: “I don't think Ralf will be taking Cristiano off again any time soon.
“Ronnie let him know, 'Just keep me on, I'm fit, I'm probably the greatest athlete at 36 years old in the world'. He doesn't want to be taken off.
“Rangnick has to be careful, because he has dropped the club captain Harry Maguire, Ronnie is on his side but he was frustrated that he came off, there is no need to take him off.
“You want to keep Cristiano on side if you can”

United 'fear' Ronaldo exit
Man United are reportedy dreading the financial ramifications Ronaldo's potential exit this summer would have on the club.
The Red Devils are said to be planning a tour of the United States later this year.
And the tour won't have the same appeal without Ronaldo present, according to the Daily Star.
United's pre-season tour is reportedly worth up to £20million through club sponsors, merchandising and tickets for fixtures.
However, a large chunk of that revenue would be acquired with the help of Ronaldo's 'CR7' brand.
So United's economic hopes could be plunged into chaos if the attacker decides to leave.

Tell the truth about Martial
Rio Ferdinand has urged Man United to come clean over what happened with Martial.
On his latest episode of FIVE LIVE, Ferdinand said: “If Martial isn't telling the truth here – and I'm not casting any dispersions – but if he's not telling the truth when he says he's never refused to play or disrespected the club.
“If he did refuse then someone at that football club needs to come out and absolutely put this to bed.
“They need to give pure clarity, put a line in the sand, put a flag down and say; 'This is us and this is where we're at'.”

Dembele 'refuses' Barca's demands
Ousmane Dembele has hit back at Barcelona claiming he still wants to play for the club.
Barcelona announced the winger was available for sale this month after rejecting multiple offers of a new contract.
Dembele's current deal expires in the summer but he revealed he is still committed to the club despite a stall in negotiations.
He said in a statement: “Gossip about me has been piling up for four years. It's been fours years since people have spoken for me, shamefully lied with one sole purpose – to harm me.
“As of today it's over. From today I will speak honestly without giving in to any kind of blackmail.
“My message is transparent. I forbid anyone to give the impression that I am not involved in the sports project.
“I forbid anyone to attribute intentions to me that I have never had. I forbid anyone to speak for me or my representative, whom I fully trust.
“Still under contract, I am fully involved and at the disposal of my club, my coach.
“I have always given everything for my colleagues and also for all the partners – it is not now that this is going to change. I am not a man who cheats and even less a man who has a habit of giving in to blackmail.
“As you know there are negotiations. I let my agent handle it, it's his turf.
“My field is the ball, playing football, sharing moments of joy with my team-mates. Above all, let's focus on winning.”
