It is a turbulent time for Manchester United who are hurtling towards what promises to be a summer of major changes.
The 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Crystal Palace on Monday underlined just how far the club has fallen. United were miles off the pace, with the centre-back pairing of Jonny Evans and Casemiro particularly hopeless, while Erik ten Hag stood on the sidelines unable to turn the tide.
The Dutchman could still end the campaign with silverware if United somehow overcome Manchester City in the FA Cup final on May 25. But Ten Hag’s days as manager are numbered, with replacements being lined up and his judgement looking even more questionable after the exiled Jadon Sancho helped Borussia Dortmund reach the Champions League final.

United are back in action against Arsenal on Sunday – quite the daunting task, even if Ten Hag can finally welcome back some injured players. It’s a pretty bleak picture right now, with United in eighth place and drifting towards the end of the season. Here are the latest headlines.
Sancho sends blunt message
While United didn’t even make it out of their group, Dortmund will play in the Champions League final on June 1 at Wembley. Their side will likely contain Sancho, who has been enjoying himself since re-joining the club on loan from United in January.
His falling out with Ten Hag was very public and it is hard to see him returning any time soon, given how settled he looks in Germany. He wasn’t shy in sharing his thoughts amid the high of the celebrations in Paris on Tuesday night.
Dortmund’s Instagram account shared a picture of Sancho celebrating with Drake superimposed below. In the clip, Drake can be heard saying: “To the rest of you, the non-believers, the under-achievers, the tweet and deleters… You guys make me sick to my stomach.” Replying to the post, Sancho wrote: “LOL FACTS!”

United’s financial reality
United won’t be playing in the Champions League next season – and if that is not bad enough, the financial consequences of their failure elsewhere are stark.
As Mirror Football have reported, revenue could take a £100million hit if they do not qualify for Europe at all next season. Their failure to reach the Champions League has already ensured a deficit of more than £50m.
The club’s quarterly financial results pointed to an expected decrease of £45m in revenue for missing out on the knockout stages of the Champions League this season. Even if they do make the Europa League, the financial returns for the secondary competition are a fraction of the main show: the four semi-finalists this season have made between £13m and £15m.

Two Premier League clubs have enquired about Mason Greenwood
Mason Greenwood is attracting lots of interest ahead of the summer transfer window. The Manchester United striker is on loan at Getafe, where he has 10 goals and six assists in 32 games this season.
Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Lazio have all been credited with interest and now a fresh report says two Premier League sides have joined the queue. United reportedly value him at £40m, which would rule out the possibility of him staying with Getafe permanently.
Greenwood, 22, joined Getafe on loan in September after charges of attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour against him were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.
