A man in his 70s was found dead at the water’s edge in Steinsfjord in Senja on Thursday morning.

“The man was found by his wife, who alerted the emergency services. Attempts were made to resuscitate him, but it did not work,” operations manager Morten Augensen in Troms Police District told news bureau NTB.

There is no suspicion that anything criminal has happened. Police believe it was an accident or that the man’s health rapidly deteriorated.
