West Ham United are reportedly interested in Manchester City defender Nathan Ake.
The Hammers’ win over Liverpool last month was overshadowed by the season-ending injury to central defender Angelo Ogbonna.
Ogbonna had been a defensive mainstay for David Moyes’ side as they continued their impressive run of form which has seen them ease into the Europa League knockout stages and edge into the top four.
But now they will have to make do without the defender as he recovers from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
As a result, City defender Ake has been linked with a move to the London Stadium as West Ham look for defensive reinforcements as the season edges towards the halfway mark.
The Dutchman played in the win over Aston Villa earlier this week as Pep Guardiola was forced into a number of changes, his fourth Premier League start of the season.
As per 90min, West Ham have been looking for additional cover for summer signing Kurt Zouma and report that Moyes’ side will look to pursue a loan deal – at this stage – which would include an obligation to buy.
City are reportedly reluctant to strengthen a Premier League rival with a £41m defender but could be open should the Hammers front the right price and indicate a willingness to discuss a future transfer for their captain, Declan Rice.
Elsewhere, it has been reported that City are said to be in the hunt for RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo.
The Spaniard is targeted by his former club Barcelona but talks between the two have been put on the backburner whilst they negotiate a deal for Ferran Torres.
Spanish news outlet Sport via Sport Witness reports that Olmo had been in favour of a move but circumstances have changed due to the Cules dwindling financial situation and the appointment of legendary midfielder Xavi.
