A man has been arrested after two people were found stabbed to death at a home in regional NSW.
Emergency services were called to a home on On-Avon Ave in Oberon just after 7am on Friday following concerns for the welfare of the occupants, police said.
The bodies of a man and woman, both with stab wounds, were found inside.
They were yet to be formally identified.
“A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths commenced,” NSW Police said.
Detectives arrested a 46-year-old man more than 120km away on Jack William Drive in Penrith just before 9am.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries before being taken to Nepean Hospital, where he remained under police guard.
“The parties were known to each other. No further information is available at this stage,” police said.
