The daughter of Hollywood stars Melanie Griffith, 66, and Don Johnson, 74, stars as Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Webb aka Madame Web in the upcoming superhero movie Madame Web.
Dakota portrays the title character in the film that also stars Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor and Isabela Merced.
The film by British director S.J. Clarkson is scheduled to be released in the US on February 14.
Dakota has been busy promoting the film with multiple interviews on television and with online and print outlets.
She recently told the French fashion magazine L’Officiel that she thinks her Cassie Webb/Madame Web character is ‘powerful and sexy.’
Cassie is a New York City paramedic who starts to show signs of clairvoyance.
As she ‘develops the power to see the future she is forced to confront revelations about her past, and forges a relationship with three young women bound for powerful destinies, if they can all survive a deadly present,’ according to the IMDb synopsis.
L’Officiel’s cover story headline was ‘Dakota Johnson’s Web of Truths.’

She spoke about what drew her to Madame Web, saying: ‘It was interesting to me that the main character’s superpower is her mind, and that she is a woman. That is something that I can really get behind. That’s very real to me, and it’s really powerful and sexy.’
She elaborated on that thought, adding: ‘I think that the minds of women are incredibly powerful, so I think that it’s a more relatable superhero. It is more of a psychological thriller.
‘This film is a really fabulous departure for Marvel, because sometimes it’s amazing to have these other universes and galaxies doing unrealistic things in an unrealistic place,’ she explained.
‘That can be escapism and really entertaining. Before Madame Web becomes Madame Web, she’s a paramedic and she is on the front lines; she is an everyday hero. So I just thought it was different. And I had never done anything like that,’ Dakota elucidated.
