Majoriti pemimpin Umno Melaka tolak langkah solo Zahid

Presiden Umno Ahmad Zahid Hamidi berdepan kesukaran meyakinkan pemimpin parti itu di Melaka untuk bergerak bersendirian dalam pilihan raya negeri (PRN) yang akan diadakan bulan depan, dalam apa yang dilihat sebagai satu lagi pemberontakan seperti yang pernah dihadapinya sewaktu di Sarawak dan Sabah sebelum ini, MalaysiaNow difahamkan.

Sekurang-kurangnya 70% ahli jawatankuasa Umno negeri itu membantah pengumuman Zahid baru-baru ini bahawa Umno akan bertanding dalam PRN tanpa PAS dan Perikatan Nasional (PN).

Ia adalah susulan robohnya piagam Muafakat Nasional yang ditandatangani bersama PAS pada 2019 berikutan parti Islam itu menolak untuk meninggalkan PN, gabungan yang diketuai Presiden Bersatu Muhyiddin Yassin yang digulingkan oleh Zahid dan bekas perdana menteri Najib Razak.

Pada mesyuarat jawatankuasa negeri baru-baru ini, beberapa pemimpin bahagian secara terang-terangan mempersoalkan pengumuman Zahid bahawa Umno akan bersendirian dalam menghadapi pilihan raya, mengatakan langkah itu pasti akan mengembalikan PH ke tampuk pentadbiran negeri.

Perbincangan tertutup bersama pemimpin Umno juga turut menyaksikan ramai yang mempersoalkan sama ada keputusan Zahid itu sengaja dirancang untuk “menyerahkan Melaka kepada cikgunya”, merujuk hubungan presiden Umno itu dengan Pengerusi PH Anwar Ibrahim, berdasarkan perbualan telefon yang bocor antara kedua-dua ahli politik itu awal tahun ini.

“Untuk Umno bersendirian hadapi pilihan raya hanya mengulangi kebodohan pilihan raya umum yang lalu apabila PH menang akibat pertembungan antara tiga parti,” kata seorang ketua bahagian Melaka kepada MalaysiaNow.

Pada 12 Oktober, Zahid berkata Umno akan bertanding PRN Melaka dengan menggunakan lambang BN, selain mengatakan kerjasama dengan PAS juga sudah tidak lagi relevan.

Langkah untuk bertanding solo itu bermakna PRN Melaka akan menyaksikan pertandingan tiga penjuru melibatkan PH, PN dan BN.

Pertembungan tiga penjuru pada Pilihan Raya Umum 2018 berpunca daripada kegagalan Umno dan PAS membentuk pakatan pilihan raya walaupun pemimpin kedua-dua parti itu sempat meleraikan beberapa perbezaan mereka dalam beberapa pertemuan.

Perpecahan undi menyebabkan calon PH memenangi banyak kerusi sekali gus menumbangkan BN buat kali pertama di beberapa DUN, termasuk DUN Melaka.

Pada 2018, PH memenangi 15 dari 28 kerusi DUN di Melaka.

Sekurang-kurangnya lima kerusi dimenangi oleh gabungan pembangkang disebabkan kehadiran PAS, yang walaupun muncul di tempat ketiga, memperoleh lebih banyak undi daripada majoriti yang dimenangi PH.

Antara kerusi DUN tersebut termasuk Gadek, Durian Tunggal, Klebang, Telok Mas dan Bemban, di mana BN dianggap boleh memenanginya jika bergabung dengan PAS.

“Kenyataannya, undi penyokong Bersatu diberikan kepada PH pada pilihan raya 2018.

“Tidak mungkin undi ini akan diberikan kepada PH pada pilihan raya akan datang,” kata seorang pemimpin Umno di Bukit Katil.

Ramai yang melihat PRN yang akan diadakan pada 20 November depan sebagai ujian litmus bukan hanya kepada Umno, tetapi juga terhadap keputusan parti itu untuk memutuskan hubungan dengan Bersatu dan PN.

Beberapa pemimpin Umno bahagian di Melaka juga menyatakan kebimbangan dengan pendirian parti yang dilihat tidak belajar daripada PRN Sabah tahun lalu, apabila ia gagal mendapatkan jumlah majoriti besar yang membolehkan jawatan ketua menteri diberikan kepada Umno.

Dalam PRN Sabah, Umno memenangi kurang kerusi berbanding sekutunya dari Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, sebuah pakatan pilihan raya yang turut dianggotai PN dan Umno.

Tetapi Zahid bukan tidak pernah menghadapi pemberontakan dari pemimpin di peringkat negeri.

Pada akhir 2018, ahli Parlimen, Adun dan pemimpin negeri yang keluar parti melumpuhkan Umno Sabah setelah enam bulan Zahid memenangi jawatan presiden parti itu.

Zahid juga dikecam ketika beliau dituduh menggunakan kuasanya dalam pemilihan calon BN pada PRN Sarawak 2016.

Kali ini, Zahid akan berdepan kesukaran untuk meyakinkan pemimpin parti di Melaka bagi meneruskan dasar yang melihat Bersatu sebagai musuh.

“Faktanya, Bersatu adalah kenderaan yang digunakan PH untuk menarik sokongan orang Melayu yang tidak berpuas hati dengan Umno ketika PRU 2018.

“Peralihan kecil sokongan orang Melayu kepada PH menyebabkan Umno jatuh. Kini dengan PAS dan Bersatu di kem yang sama, ia boleh membawa kepada peralihan undi Melayu yang lebih besar, ” kata seorang pemimpin cawangan Umno dari kawasan Parlimen Hang Tuah Jaya.
