Maduro felicita al Parlamento por ley que protege las pensiones del "bloqueo imperialista"

Caracas, 8 may (EFE).- El presidente de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, felicitó este miércoles a la Asamblea Nacional (AN, Parlamento) -de mayoría chavista- por una ley aprobada el martes para “proteger” las pensiones frente a los efectos negativos del “bloqueo imperialista” impuesto por Estados Unidos.

“Felicito a la Asamblea Nacional que, de manera unánime, ha aprobado en segunda discusión el Proyecto de Ley de Protección de las Pensiones de Seguridad Social (…). Sigamos avanzando en la labor de establecer mecanismos prósperos para brindarle a nuestros abuelos y abuelas más protección y bienestar”, expresó Maduro a través de X.

De acuerdo con una nota de prensa del Parlamento, la ley de pensiones -que fue propuesta por el Ejecutivo- establece que las empresas privadas que operen en el país tendrán que hacer una “contribución especial”, de un 15 %, del “total de los pagos realizados a los trabajadores por concepto de salario y bonificaciones de carácter no salarial”.

Asimismo, el presidente venezolano podrá exonerar del pago, total o parcialmente, de la “contribución especial” a sujetos pasivos especiales y sectores estratégicos “para la inversión extranjera y el desarrollo nacional”.

La legislación plantea que la declaración y pago de esta contribución se hará cada mes a través del Servicio Nacional Integrado de Administración Aduanera y Tributaria (Seniat).

Desde marzo de 2022, la pensión, así como el salario mínimo, se mantiene en 130 bolívares al mes, que en ese entonces, al cambio oficial, eran unos 30 dólares, y hoy 3,5 dólares, lo que significa que se ha reducido un 88 % en su equivalente con la divisa estadounidense, usada como referencia para fijar precios en Venezuela.

En el país suramericano, los adultos mayores se han visto obligados a volver a trabajar y tomar la opción de la reinserción laboral como una necesidad para poder subsanar su “incapacidad para alimentarse” o comprar medicinas, en medio de la crisis que aún vive el país, según la ONG Convite.
