macOS Monterey rolling out on October 25: Here are the things you should keep in mind before updating
Announced at Worldwide Developers Conference, macOS Monterey will be rolling out to compatible Mac laptops and desktops on October 25. The operating system brings several new features and changes to the Mac devices that includes the new universal control for better integration between Apple devices, a new Safari browser and new privacy updates like Private Relay, updated Focus mode support and more.
But as excited you might be about updating your Mac, there are a few things you should keep in mind before moving forward with the update process.
Try to know all about the macOS Monterey
Without any second thought, it is important that you should know all about the new update before installing it. Know about the features, changes that are coming with the update.

Check whether your Mac is compatible with the latest update
Apple ditches some devices with every new update. So, it is important to check whether the particular model of Mac you own support the latest version of macOS.

Here’s a list of devices that are compatible with macOS Monterey.
iMac – 2015 and later
iMac Pro – 2017 and later
MacBook Air – Early 2015 and later
MacBook Pro – Early 2015 and later
Mac Pro – Late 2013 and later
Mac mini – Late 2014 and later
MacBook – Early 2016 and later
Check whether you’ve enough storage
Make sure that the device has enough storage space to download and install the update. It is recommended to have at least 15-20GB of free storage before proceeding with the update.

Check for stable and fast internet connection
Ensure that your Mac is connected to a reliable and fast internet connection. Also, make sure that you have enough data to download the update package.

Take a complete backup before the update
To ensure the safety of your data, take a complete backup of your important files and documents. So, if in case something goes wrong, your data will be safe.
