Luhut Gandeng China Kembangkan Padi di Kalteng, Bulog Siap Jadi Off Taker

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Perum Bulog siap menjadi off taker hasil kerja sama pengembangan padi antara Indonesia dan China yang akan dilakukan di Kalimantan Tengah.

Hal ini disampaikan oleh Direktur Utama Perum Bulog Bayu Krisnmurthi saat menanggapi kerja sama yang disepakati oleh Menteri Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan dalam pertemuan Pertemuan ke-4 High Level Dialogue and Cooperation Mechanism (HDCM) RI-Republik Rakyat China (RRC) lalu.

“Kita tidak masalah diminta jadi off taker-nya, kita punya kemampuan untuk itu,” jelas Bayu dalam agenda Halal Bilalal Bulog di Kantornya, Kamis (25/4).

Meski demikian, Bayu mengaku belum mendapatkan penerangan untuk rencana ini. Menurutnya hal ini akan dibahas secara teknis bersama dengan kementerian dan lembaga terkait.

“Jadi ya kita tunggu bagaimana bagaimana teknisnya nanti, tapi kalau posisinya Bulog untuk menjadi pembeli, kita siap,” tegas Bayu.

Sebelumnya, Menko Luhut menyampaikan rencana kerja sama antara China dan Indonesia ini akan mulai dilakukan pada Oktober 2024.

Adapun pengelolaan lahan tersebut akan dilakukan secara bertahap. Misalnya, dari 100.000 hektare, naik ke 200.000 hektare dan akan terus dilakukan evaluasi.

“Kita (Indonesia) minta mereka (China) memberikan teknologi padi mereka, di mana mereka sudah sangat sukses menjadi swasembada. Mereka bersedia,” ujar Luhut.

Luhut mengatakan bahwa langkah selanjutnya yang harus dilakukan oleh Indonesia adalah mencari mitra lokal untuk bekerja sama dalam mengembangkan pertanian di Indonesia.

Sementara lembaga yang ditunjuk untuk mengumpulkan hasil produksi tersebut adalah Perum Bulog.

Luhut menilai proyek ini penting lantaran padi merupakan masalah serius bagi Indonesia. Terlebih, saat ini kita masih bergantung pada impor dalam memenuhi kebutuhan beras nasional.

“Beras selalu kita impor, 2 juta ton lah, 1,5 juta ton. Jadi, kalau program ini jalan, dan menurut saya harus jalan, kita sebenarnya minta 4–5 ton saja,” ucap dia.
