Love Island's Samie Elisihi and Tom Clare are surprised by friends and family with a welcome home bash... after confirming whether they're 'official' yet

They jetted home to the UK earlier this week after placing third during Monday night’s Love Island final.

And it’s been quite the welcome home for Tom Clare and Samie Elishi, as the pair were surprised by friends and family on Friday night.

The footballer, 23, and estate agent, 22, were overwhelmed as pals filmed them walking into the surprise bash – which featured their initials in giant lightbox letters.

Co-star Claudia Fogerty even made an appearance to the party as she reunited with her pals after being dumped from the island ahead of the final.

Tom also took the opportunity the following morning to answer whether he had made things official with Samie yet, confirming that while not yet, she will be his girlfriend soon.

A large group of Tom and Samie’s nearest and dearest gathered to throw them the coming home party, leaving the young couple overwhelmed.

Decking out a venue for the bash, a giant ‘S’ and ‘T’ in lightbox letters sat in one corner, alongside an extravagant balloon arch and neon light which read ‘Crazy in Love’.

Many filmed their arrival too as the couple walked upstairs to see their guests all waiting, greeting everyone with shocked faces and hugs.

Also surprising the couple was Claudia, who left the villa before the final week in a shock quadruple dumping.

As she headed in to the party, both Tom and Samie were left shocked – with the latter placing a hand over her mouth before running over to give her pal a hug.

Sharing a video of the moment to her Instagram Stories, Claudia wrote: ‘Surprise @samieelishi @tomclare I wouldn’t miss your coming home party for the world. Love you both so much and so proud of you’.

The next morning, Tom took to his own Stories to answer some questions from fans while Samie drove the couple on a roadtrip.

As one follower asked whether he was shocked to see Claudia again at the bash, Tom replied: ‘Best surprise, she’s a top girl’.

Many were keen to know whether Tom and Samie, who declared their love for one another in the Love Island villa and described themselves as ‘exclusive’, where officially boyfriend and girlfriend yet.

Clearing things up, the footballer told the camera: ‘Samie will be my girlfriend very soon. We are very private people and it’s something that we would make just us two but yeah, she’ll be my girlfriend 100%’.

Tom and Samie managed to make it all the way to the final and place third, despite both arriving as bombshell contestants.

But ultimately, they lost out to winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan and placed just behind runners up Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins.

The duo are set to reunite with the whole Love Island cast on Sunday night in the show’s reunion episode, which will see them sit down with host Maya Jama – a week after leaving the villa.
