SHAH ALAM – Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar has urged the party to conduct a thorough analysis of its recent electoral performances to enhance its future prospects.

Stressing that success should not foster complacency, the former Permatang Pauh MP advocated for learning from past experiences.

Nurul Izzah’s remarks are believed to encompass the polls held in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, and Terengganu last August, along with several by-elections since the 15th General Election in November last year.

“Our past serves as a reflection of our future. Let’s draw lessons from the past to shape a brighter future,” she announced in her address at the Parti Keadilan Rakyat congress yesterday.

She further highlighted that empathy is a cornerstone of the current administration and will contribute to the party’s continued success and relevance.

“The challenge lies in translating empathy into policies that positively transform people’s lives.

“Parti Keadilan Rakyat must continue building on its achievements and efforts in providing a more comprehensive social safety net, particularly through policies that empower women and facilitate their reintegration into the workforce,” Nurul Izzah said.

In this regard, she reminded delegates that the unity government has introduced the i-Suri scheme, enabling housewives, widows, and single mothers to contribute to the Employees Provident Fund.

“Mothers returning to work are additionally eligible for first-month salary subsidies.

“Our endeavors don’t end there. We also seek to emulate Selangor and Penang by providing childcare facilities at workplaces to encourage mothers’ re-entry into the workforce,” said Nurul Izzah, who also serves as co-head of the secretariat for the Advisory Committee to the finance minister.

She contrasted these initiatives, along with the socioeconomic policies anchored on the unity government’s Madani values, with the Opposition’s politics of hatred and extremism fueled by trivial issues.

Consequently, the Madani administration has fostered political stability and attracted greater investments.

Nurul Izzah also drew attention to the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza, who have endured oppression for the past 75 years, and urged Malaysians to continue supporting the beleaguered people.
