Lidl makes urgent recall of sweet treats that might have metal in them

Lidl are urgently recalling one of their sweet items as they may contain pieces of metal. The budget supermarket are warning customers that various Tower Gate cookies may be unsafe to eat.

The packets of baked goods could have small pieces of metal in and customers should not eat them if their items have the specific best before dates as listed below. The products being recalled because of this hazard are the Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Triple Chocolate, Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Lemon and the Tower Gate Chocolate Chip Cookies. The packets with these issues have best before dates of December 12, 13 and 14 2024.

Notices have been put in Lidl stores across the country that explain to customers why the product is being recalled. The notice reads: “Lidl GB is recalling the above-mentioned product due to potential presence of metal, which may cause injury.

“If you have bought one of the above products we advise you not to eat them. Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.” Customers with any queries have been advised to contact Lidl Customer Services on 0203 966 5566 or [email protected].

The popular snacks have been recalled due to the harm the potential metal can cause to consumers. The Food Standards Agency have issued this recall notice to let Lidl shoppers know about the problem with this item and urges them to return the item.
