London weather: Expert reveals exactly when the capital's temperatures are set to spike as spring gets underway

A weather expert has revealed exactly when London’s thermostats are set to rocket. According to Jim Dales of the British Weather Services, we may well see considerably warmer temperatures by the end of April.

He said: “I fully expect April, with time going on to deliver an occasional spike of very warm weather, but it will come later rather than sooner.” Jim added that temperatures we may feel warmer than what they are in the sun, at the start of next month.

However there may be significantly more pollen in the air than there is now, which could trigger hay fever. The full upcoming London forecast can be found below.

London always looks beautiful when the weather’s nice

London Weather

Today (March 22) saw ‘a wet and windy start. Rain and cloud slowly clearing eastwards through the day, though perhaps remaining cloudy throughout for parts of the Kent and Sussex coastlines. Elsewhere, becoming dry with some sunny intervals into the afternoon. Windy throughout. Maximum temperature 15C’.

Moving towards the end of the day things won’t be much nicer. The website reads ‘cloud returns north as showers build through the evening, followed by a band of rain and strengthening winds overnight. Becoming dry and clear for some toward dawn with isolated showers. Minimum temperature 6C’.

Tomorrow (March 23) will be nice to begin with, but will then descend into showers. The forecast says ‘a bright start Thursday, though patchy cloud, strong winds and blustery showers developing from mid-morning. A chance of heavy rain into the evening. Maximum temperature 14C’.

From Friday (March 24) until Sunday (March 26) things will fortunately begin picking up. We are due ‘sunny spells, heavy, perhaps thundery showers and strong winds lingering through Friday and Saturday. Cooler, with lighter winds Sunday, showers initially, with rain perhaps arriving later’.
