CBFC implements cuts for ‘Fighter’, addressing ‘sensuous visuals’

With the highly anticipated release of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter just around the corner, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has completed the censor process, revealing modifications made to the aerial action thriller.

According to Bollywood Hungama, The CBFC requested four key modifications for ‘Fighter.’ Firstly, a mandatory anti-smoking static message was required to be displayed in Hindi. Additionally, an offensive word was either muted or replaced in two dialogues, occurring at the 53-minute and 1-hour 18-minute marks.

Notably, the CBFC ordered the removal of ‘sexually suggested visuals,’ spanning 8 seconds, with suitable shots presumably taking their place. Lastly, a 25-second audio portion in a TV news visual scene was replaced with 23 seconds of audio content.

Following the implementation of these changes, ‘Fighter’ was granted a U/A (Parental Guidance) certificate on January 19. The film’s runtime, indicated on the censor certificate, stands at 166 minutes, translating to 2 hours and 46 minutes. The audience can expect the film to hit cinemas worldwide on January 25, promising an exhilarating experience with its aerial action sequences.

Surprisingly, earlier also Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Anand’s film ‘Pathaan’ underwent cuts to sensuous dance movements during the song ‘Besharam Rang’ to align with the board’s guidelines.

‘Pathaan’ starring SRK in the lead, received several good reviews from the audiences and for all the right reasons, the expectations are high for Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’ which is releasing on January 25.
