The area in and around Kumta in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district has been cordoned off after locals alerted the police about a ‘bomb-like’ object.
According to officials familiar with the case, the ‘bomb-like’ object was discovered at a spot behind the Shree Vidyadhiraj Polytechnic College in Kumta on Wednesday.
Immediately after locals alerted the police, a bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs were rushed to the spot.
