Housing crisis hits landlords as 30 per cent ‘jump’ in selling affects rental market

Sky News host Peta Credlin says the housing crisis is hitting landlords as a 30 per cent “jump” is showing investment properties are being sold off over a rise in “taxes” affecting rental market availabilities.

“The housing crisis – we talk about this a lot, we know it is predominantly supply,” Ms Credlin said.

“What I don’t understand, the dance the left is doing, and Labor is doing it, the Greens are doing it at least overtly, Labor is doing it covertly about getting rid of negative gearing.

“We find because of all of the taxes now … hitting landlords, there has been a 30 per cent jump in landlords selling off their properties.

“They are saying, ‘just can’t make it work anymore, we’re walking away’, now this is a reduction in the available pool, and we have got record migration, and Labor’s Help to Buy scheme, of which then the Labor party owns 40 per cent of your home, God forbid, that is being held up in the parliament.”
