Here's what you need to know this morning.
Peak-hour rail services reduced
Commuters across New South Wales are being warned to expect significant delays using train travel this week.
Industrial action from the Rail, Tram, and Bus Union (RTBU) will see peak-hour services reduced by 50 per cent on Tuesday and up to 75 per cent later in the week.
Action will begin on Tuesday with trains slowing to a max speed of 60kph.
The union says it is a response to serious safety concerns about the new InterCity Fleet.
RTBU secretary Alex Claassens accused the government of trying to “bribe” train drivers with monetary payment to ignore the safety concerns.
“The government is essentially trying to bribe workers into operating a train that we know is not safe for commuters or workers,” he said.
Transport for NSW is urging people to have a backup plan for essential travel throughout the week.
Bee movement ban
The ability of bees to fly, gather food and pollinate crops is affected by the mite.(Emma Sleath)
The movement of bees has been banned across the state overnight, following the detection of a parasite at the Port of Newcastle.
It is the first time the varroa mite has been found in Australia and it could cause losses of $70 million a year if it becomes established here.
The mite is known to cripple bees by significantly reducing their ability to fly, gather food and pollinate crops.
In addition to the biosecurity zone banning movement, hives within a 10-kilometre radius of the port will be destroyed.
President of the NSW Farmers Association James Jackson said the decision to expand the ban state-wide was sensible.
“It's good that we actually picked it up and we had the capacity there to do that surveillance,” he said.
“[It's] a little bit concerning that there's been some movement around the state but this standstill if you like, hive standstill, is quite a sensible move.”

A jury is today expected to resume deliberations in the trial for a Sydney entertainment manager accused of embezzling money from performer Guy Sebastian.
Titus Day, 49, has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, related to royalties and payments that Mr Sebastian alleges he is owed.
The NSW District Court has heard allegations the performer is owed about $900,000, after being managed by Mr Day for more than a decade.
After a trial that ran for almost two months, the jury retired to consider its verdict on Thursday afternoon.
Judge Tim Gartelmann, SC, has directed the jurors to reach a unanimous verdict.

A 76-year-old man who was hit by a truck in Sydney's inner west died eight days after the incident, as police appealed for witnesses.
Last Saturday at about 4pm, the man was crossing Frazer Street in Dulwich Hill when he was struck by an Isuzu truck turning right.
He was assisted by bystanders before the arrival of emergency services, who treated him for head and pelvis injuries.
He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in critical condition and died there on Friday, June 24.
The 24-year-old truck driver was also taken to hospital to undergo mandatory testing.
Anyone who was at the scene or has dash cam footage is asked to contact police.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
