Feng shui master Kenny Hoo says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will experience a significant boost in his luck and health this year.
PETALING JAYA: The Year of the Dragon is here, and the more superstitious among leaders of the unity government might find interest in a feng shui expert’s predictions for the lunar year ahead.
Kenny Hoo, using an astrological practice called bazi, predicts a person’s fortune based on their birth year, month, day and hour.
Hoo said the unity government led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim got off to a rocky start after its formation in the Year of the Tiger in November 2022.
However, despite many questioning the viability of the multi-coalition government, Hoo said things took a turn for the better last July while its fortunes are set to rebound further this year.
Kenny Hoo.
“This year, the unity government should see the fruits of its labour. We will be seeing a lot of great things from the government, and I don’t expect any major divisive issues to emerge either,” he told FMT.
Hoo said Anwar’s luck and health would experience a significant boost in 2024, and that this would pave the way for reforms aimed at leading the country in a better direction.
“Anwar will be receiving a lot of support not only locally but internationally as well. We can expect a great number of foreign investments, which in turn will create a lot of job opportunities for the country.”
Fair outlook for Muhyiddin, challenges for Syed Saddiq
Hoo pointed out an interesting feature in former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s bazi, namely his ability to turn any challenges he faced to his advantage.
“Last year, it seemed like he had overcome his obstacles,” he said. But while there is a fair outlook for Muhyiddin in 2024, Hoo advised the Perikatan Nasional chairman to take extra care in 2025 and 2026, citing possible difficulties in terms of health and public support.
Last August, Muhyiddin was acquitted of four counts of abusing his position as prime minister to obtain bribes totalling RM232.5 million for Bersatu in connection with the Jana Wibawa programme.
Three charges of money laundering remain against Muhyideen, who is president of Bersatu. On the political front, Muhyiddin has seen six of his party’s MPs declare support for Anwar without quitting Bersatu.
Hoo said challenges lie ahead of Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman this year, after an already difficult Year of the Rabbit. “This year will be tiring, taxing and stressful for him,” he said.
On Nov 9, Syed Saddiq was sentenced to seven years in jail, a RM10 million fine and two strokes of the rotan after being convicted of abetting in criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of assets and money laundering.
The sentences have been stayed pending an appeal to the Court of Appeal, but he decided to temporarily step down as Muda president following his conviction.
A new era
Hoo said 2024 marks the beginning of “period nine”, the final phase in a 180-year grand cycle of feng shui.
For the next two decades, he forecast Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia, experiencing huge transformations across several domains, from politics, economy, art and even religion.
“We are entering into an era in which all aspects of people’s lives will be improved. In feng shui, the number nine represents ‘celebration’, so do expect to hear a lot of good news that is deserving of celebrations,” said Hoo, who founded Good Feng Shui Geomantic Research.
