David Johnston, special rapporteur on foreign interference, holds a press conference about his findings and recommendations, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada May 23, 2023.
Comfortably numb
‘Uncle David’ is hanging in there for his good ‘family friend,’ Justin Trudeau. Now, that’s loyalty for you … especially after a 170-to-150 vote in Parliament demanding David Johnston step down as Trudeau-appointed Special Rapporteur on Foreign Interference. The 170 members voting for the step-down constituted the entire opposition ranks — including Jagmeet Singh. The very same Jagmeet Singh who co-signed the Supply and Confidence Agreement that keeps the disastrously arrogant and inept Justin Trudeau in power. There is no limit on conflict-of-interest and hypocrisy within the Liberal and NDP ranks. J.T., never at a loss for the next lie, maintains Johnston’s impartiality in his ‘investigation’ of Chinese interference. He apparently has no problem with the special adviser Johnston chose to aid him in his quest for the ‘truth.’ That would be Sheila Block, variously shown as Sheila R. Block, on receipts for the $7,500+ in donations she made to the Liberal Party of Canada. After eight years of appalling corruption, arrogance and ineptitude on the part of the Trudeau Liberals, we have become numb to their track record of egregious behaviour. The continued assault on everything once decent in this country will end. It’s a matter of time. Then comes the daunting task of restoring ‘democracy’ and decency under honest, transparent, responsible leadership.

‘Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely’ is a famous quote and truer today than ever.
A new hope
The farmers are excited today. They are actually happy again. Election news from Alberta holds hope for farmers and people in Canada on food prices in the future. Fertilizer has been targeted by the federal government for a carbon tax that will increase all food grown in Canada. Let alone the transportation costs to bring the food to market. Hopefully, this trend will continue to the upcoming federal election where the NDP and the Liberals will both be without party status afterwards. Alberta is leading Canada in sanity and the future as electric tractors were giving some farmers in the back 40 nightmares.
Wayne Robertson
We certainly need some sanity back in terms of who is representing us federally.
