Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham Forest celebrates scoring his team’s first goal with teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi during the Premier League match between Nottingham Forest and West Ham United at City Ground
Gary Lineker described Nottingham Forest’s victory over West Ham as “terrific” and “vitally important” as Match of the Day pundit Shay Given singled out two Reds players for praise.
Nuno’s Forest claimed an impressive 2-0 win against the Hammers in the Premier League at the City Ground thanks to goals from Taiwo Awoniyi and Callum Hudson-Odoi. And Given was particularly impressed with the performance of Hudson-Odoi and defender Nuno Tavares as he analysed the match.
“A terrific and vitally important win for Nottingham Forest. How did they go about it?” said Lineker on Match of the Day.
“I think they were very strong down the left side, Tavares and Hudson-Odoi were really on fire,” replied Given. “They had a great game. I think it was Coufal and Bowen and they couldn’t deal with these two guys.
“Super fast down the left side. Tavares is a really offensive full-back and he’s just got this partnership going with Hudson-Odoi and he looks to be enjoying his football.
“He’s really back to where Chelsea fans probably think he should be.”
