Atomic Heart Gets New Update

  • Patch 1.13.4.0 in Atomic Heart has been released, fixing crashes in the main game and Trapped in Limbo DLC.
  • Atomic Heart is patching up issues with Patch 1.13.4.0, ensuring a smoother gameplay experience on PC and consoles.

Atomic Heart developer Mundfish has revealed Patch 1.13.4.0, a smaller update which aims to bring a handful of bug fixes to the main game, as well as to its recently released Trapped in Limbo DLC. Having launched about a year ago, Atomic Heart had garnered mixed reception with a rocky start and prominent bugs. Despite this, the first-person shooter is known for its wildly unique art style and refreshing alternate history setting.

Atomic Heart’s second story DLC, Trapped in Limbo, was recently released earlier this month. Taking players on a journey through the dream-like Limbo dimension briefly touched upon during select moments in Atomic Heart’s main story, the DLC has players regaining protagonist P-3’s memories alongside his wife’s consciousness, which manifests as a Polymer teardrop. Along with dazzlingly colorful environments and enemies, Trapped in Limbo also incorporates some first-person platforming, which seems quite in-line with the DLC’s bright and bubbly visual style.

The Unwritten Rules of Atomic Heart Explained

Atomic Heart has some tough challenges up its sleeve, but there are plenty of tools at the player’s disposal to even out the odds.

On Twitter, Mundfish has revealed Atomic Heart’s latest update, Patch 1.13.4.0. The small patch targets an early-game mission titled “Train to Solnechnaya,” which has seen PS4 players encounter crashes during its train ride. Also addressed in the patch is an issue preventing some console players from gaining access to Atomic Heart’s Testing Ground puzzle dungeons.

Patch 1.13.4.0 also provides fixes to issues that have occurred in the Trapped in Limbo DLC. A bug that makes P-3’s Teardrop companion unintentionally remain visible outside of dialogue has been fixed. Another part of the patch is the removal of an obstacle that was presumably causing problems on the Goose Racing track, a silly segment of the DLC that has players pursuing P-3 through a long Rainbow Road-like obstacle chase. Additionally, issues with Chirpers, Atomic Heart’s collectible audio logs, have been patched up for console players. Underneath the patch notes, Mundfish recommended Atomic Heart PC players uninstall any third-party mods and reinstall the game if they wish to receive the full effects of the update.

What’s Next For Atomic Heart?

It seems like most of Atomic Heart’s issues have now been patched up since its release a year ago. With two of Atomic Heart’s DLCs out the door, there are still two more set to be revealed and released as part of the game’s Atomic Pass. Judging by the cadence of both Annihilation Instinct and Trapped in Limbo, it may be several more months before Mundfish is ready to reveal its third DLC. Perhaps it’s possible for a reveal at this year’s Summer Game Fest with a release later in the Summer or Fall, though fans will have to wait and see.
