Left and PC culture are 'killing' comedy: Esther Krakue

Broadcaster Esther Krakue has accused the left and PC culture of “killing” comedy.

Ms Krakue’s remarks come as comedian Jerry Seinfeld slammed the “extreme left” for ruining comedy.

Seinfeld appeared on the New Yorker Radio Hour podcast alongside host David Remnick, speaking about the need and importance of comedy in television.

“Well, guess what? Where is it? Where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and PC crap and people worrying so much about offending other people,” Seinfeld said.

“Any comedian that’s willing to speak out and put their name on the line is saying exactly the same thing,” Ms Krakue told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“The left and the PC culture are killing comedians and it’s killing what they are known to do.

“To be a comedian you should be able to push the envelope, I mean free speech is probably the most important part of their profession.”
