Asda in Radford Road, Hyson Green

Asda has kicked off its second mega sale weekend, offering an extendable clothes airer for just £8. This follows the success of their first Mega Event Price Drop, where more than 22,500 Gino D’Campo £19 Air Fryers were snapped up, Birmingham Live reports.

The current sale, running until Sunday, February 18, features four items with big price cuts. One of these is the Addis 3 Tier Airer, reduced from £16 to £8. This compact airer is perfect for small spaces but can also extend, increasing its drying space from 4m to 7m.

Shoppers have praised it as ideal for drying a full load of laundry, including towels and bedding. With a capacity to hold a 7kg wash load, it’s great for families and comes with a three-year guarantee. Customers on the Asda website have given it an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars, describing it as an ‘excellent item with plenty of space when extended’.

One happy customer said: “Excellent item. Plenty of space when extended. Easy to move around by holding on to sides. Sturdy enough for bigger items such as bedding.”

Asda shoppers have been praising the ‘sturdy’ design of the Addis Airer, which is available in store or online for just £8 until the sale ends.

In addition to this, Asda has cut the price of its 550g blocks of Pilgrims Cheese Mature Cheddar and Extra Mature Cheddar from £5.50 each to now only £2.60. This cheese is a favourite among customers for its long-lasting flavour, with one reviewer describing Pilgrims as ‘by far and away one of my favourite cheeses’.

The supermarket has also reduced the price of Comfort’s Fabric Conditioner Blue Skies 2.49L from £4.75 to £2.36, which works out at just under 3p per wash.

This fabric conditioner, with a scent of green apple, rose and sandalwood, promises to keep clothes fresh for 100 days. One fan said: ” I love our washing to smell nice and have tried so many scents but always come back to this one. It’s certainly our family favourite.”

Another family favourite, a 630g box of Original Shreddies, is now just £1.75, down from £3.50. Each box serves roughly 15 portions, which works out at just over 10p per bowl.

These price drops are part of Asda’s latest Mega Event Price Drop, aimed at helping customers save money. This follows the announcement that Asda cafes have partnered with Quaker to offer all customers free porridge and a hot drink.

From Wednesday, February 7 until March 20, between 8am and midday, customers can get a free bowl of porridge with a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate at any of Asda’s 205 cafes.
