Attorney Bryan Sullivan wrote a letter to Oversight Chairman James Comer accusing him of 'partially and inaccurately leaking' his client's statementsHours after the interview Republicans claimed Morris had begun 'paying Hunter Biden's tax liability to insulate then-presidential candidate Joe Biden
Hollywood attorney and Hunter Biden cohort Kevin Morris’ attorneys tore into Republicans leading the Biden impeachment investigation for ‘cherry-picking’ evidence.
Morris, a high-powered entertainment lawyer from Los Angeles, has been a ubiquitous but quiet presence in Hunter Biden’s entourage, guiding the president’s son through his mounting legal troubles.
Hunter Biden, a recovering drug addict, accepted some $5 million in financial backing from Morris for tax debts, housing and legal costs. As a result, Morris has been dubbed Hunter’s ‘sugar brother.’
After Morris spoke with investigators on Capitol Hill Thursday as part of the GOP impeachment probe, Republicans claimed he told them that Hunter was not planning to pay back the massive loans.
But Morris’ attorney Bryan Sullivan wrote a letter to Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer accusing him of ‘partially and inaccurately leaking’ his client’s statements.
‘Not two hours after we left Mr. Morris’ transcribed interview, you issued a press statement with cherry‐picked, out of context and totally misleading descriptions of what Mr. Morris said,’ Sullivan wrote.
Hours after the transcribed interview Comer and Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan claimed Morris had begun ‘paying Hunter Biden’s tax liability to insulate then-presidential candidate Joe Biden from political liability’ shortly after meeting him at a Joe Biden campaign event in 2019.
Hunter sits with attorneys Kevin Morris and Abbe Lowell
Bong-smoking Hollywood attorney Kevin Morris, Hunter Biden ‘s financial backer, will appear on Capitol Hill Thursday for a closed-door interview, days after prosecutors said they found cocaine on Hunter’s gun pouch
The Republicans claimed in a statement that Morris said the loans did not need to be repaid ‘until after the next presidential election’ and ‘may ultimately be forgiven.’
Morris’ attorney insisted that each of the loans his client had given to Hunter had been reviewed by lawyers had proper loan terms like interest and a term and that Morris expected Hunter to pay back these loans.
It’s not clear what relation Morris plays into the Joe Biden impeachment investigation. Investigators said he told them he had met the president three times and donated to Biden’s campaign.
‘Morris repeatedly testified that he fully expected that Mr. Hunter Biden would repay these loans and never said that he would forgive the notes,’ Morris’ attorney wrote.
Sullivan went on: ‘You stated that, since Mr. Morris made the loans to Mr. Hunter Biden, he has had access to the Biden White House and spoken to President Biden giving the impression that there is some sort of deeper relationship with President Biden.’
‘This is intentionally misleading,’ Morris’ attorney stated plainly.
He said that Morris testified that he has only had ‘cursory communications’ with President Biden at public events like Mr. Biden’s daughter’s wedding.
In addition, Morris apparently only said ‘basic courtesy things as ‘hello’ and ‘how are you’ and President Biden making comments about Mr. Morris’ unkempt hair style that lasted a few minutes.’
Morris is seen smoking a bong before meeting with Hunter at his California home
After Hollywood attorney and Hunter Biden cohort Kevin Morris’ attorneys tore into Republicans leading the Biden impeachment investigation for ‘cherry-picking’ evidence and insisted they were wrong to insinuate Hunter will not pay back the loans
Morris is reportedly working with Hunter on a documentary about his recovery from crack cocaine addiction and was alongside him when he turned Congress into a circus last week with a shock hearing appearance.
Morris, who was seen smoking a bong at his LA home over the summer, was dubbed Hunter’s ‘sugar brother’ after he reportedly paying off millions in Hunter’s debts.
He also has purchased at least $875,000 worth of Hunter’s amateur artworks.
Hunter’s art dealer George Berges told House GOP investigators that Morris only paid $300,000 for the art, valued at $875,000, and Morris kept the rest of the money as a loan repayment from Hunter.
It was recently revealed Hunter is filming a top-secret documentary with Morris to set the record straight about his battle with addiction to crack cocaine and his financial woes.
