Channel 4’s Gogglebox has just been hit with yet another blow, after a turbulent year that saw several cast members quit the programme, along with the tragic deaths of a number of the show’s beloved stars.
The latest hit comes after series regular Paige Deville left the show, accusing bosses of providing ‘zero aftercare support.’ At this stage, we can’t help but wonder if the latest season of Gogglebox is, in fact, cursed?
Paige had been a regular on the programme alongside her mum Sally since 2019 but shocked the show’s fans when she tweeted to say that her stint on the programme had come to a dramatic end.
She said: ‘I have made the decision to walk away from Gogglebox.’

Paige slammed show bosses as she continued: ‘It’s been an experience but one I cannot continue with due to long hours of filming, restrictiveness, control of our actions and opinions & zero aftercare support but hey who cares about ex-cast, their NTA winners.’
The 25-year-old’s abrupt departure from the show comes amid a very tough year for Gogglebox, after facing, among other things, the deaths of three of its stars – Pete McGarry, Andy Michael and Mary Cook.
Pete, 71, passed away back in June in what his family described as a short illness. Pete, along with his wife Linda and son, George Gilbey, joined the programme for its second season in 2013.
A statement issued on behalf of the family said: ‘We are deeply saddened to announce that Gogglebox star Pete McGarry passed away at the age of 71 this weekend with his family by his side after a short illness.’
Andy sadly passed away aged 61 after a short illness, a statement from Channel 4 and Studio Lambert revealed on behalf of his family last month.
Fans will fondly recall how Andy appeared on his sofa alongside his wife Carolyne and their children Louis and Alex.
News broke just a few days before Andy’s passing that Mary Cook, another star of the show, had died with her family by her side.
Mary appeared on the series alongside her close friend Marina Wingrove and the pair made quite the iconic duo.
It’s been a tough year for Gogglebox fans for sure.Internet Explorer Channel Network
