Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi on five-man Kaizer Chiefs coach shortlist
Former Mamelodi Sundowns coaches Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi are reportedly on a shortlist of candidates for the Kaizer Chiefs job.
Soccer Laduma have reported that club insiders have confirmed that Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi are on the shortlist.

They have also pointed to hints as to the identity of the foreign coaches on the list.
Mosimane and Mngqithi would be popular choices with the fans.
The coaches have repuatations of being winners.
Recent appointments have lacked that kind of pedigree.
Cavin Johnson looks set to see out the season in charge. However, the fans are already turning on him. A wonderwork in the league might turn things around for him but chances are slim that he will stay at Naturena.
“For now, it’s known among the club and it’s officials that coach Cavin Johnson will go back to his post at the end of the season and that is why the search for a new coach is continuing,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
“There are five coaches currently shortlisted by the club and these include Pitso Mosimane and Manqoba Mngqithi.
“There are two from Europe and one from South America but they want to cut that down to at least two or three before making the final decision.
“It won’t be easy but they are doing their best right now to fight for the best candidate for the job from the five who have been shortlisted.
“They are all good but they are looking at someone who will understand Chiefs’ culture and customs and also the playing philosophy.
“But it’s as good as done that by the start of preseason the new coach will be announced,” the source concluded.
Amakhosi on the lookout
Another source revealed that the club are closely monitoring the coach’s current employment situations.
“I think what has delayed the selection and announcement of a new coach is that two these coaches are still contracted to their current clubs and they don’t want to be in breach of contract or something like that,” said the second Soccer Laduma source.
“The two South African coaches are both still coaching different teams and Chiefs are waiting for their contracts to expire as well.
“But coach Pitso and coach Manqoba are the two believed to be part of the shortlist of the five coaches,” the source observed.
The club has not confirmed the existence of a shortlist.
