Browns select speedy WR, productive D-lineman in latest mock draft

The Cleveland Browns won’t make their first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft until pick No. 55 in the second round, barring a trade up of course. However, Pro Football Focus believes they can still find impactful players with their first couple of selections.

“The Browns need another impact wide receiver, hopefully one with speed,” PFF’s Trevor Sikkema writes. “Worthy brings difference-making NFL speed, but he’s not just a straight-line sprinter; his footwork, acceleration, one-cut speed and vertical speed must be accounted for on every play.”

The speedy wide receiver has reportedly been clocked at 4.29 seconds in the 40-yard dash, which would make him one of the fastest players in the NFL. He has the stats to back up his speed as well, posting 197 catches for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns from 2021-23.

He could be the perfect complement to WR Amari Cooper in Cleveland’s offense, especially after WR Elijah Moore underwhelmed this season with just 640 yards and two touchdowns.

PFF then has the Browns selecting Florida State defensive lineman Braden Fiske with their third-round pick.

“The Browns do have Dalvin Tomlinson in the middle, but he is almost 30 years old,” Sikkema writes. “In five of his last seven games, he recorded a pass-rush win rate above 10 percent. The Browns roster some solid rotational defensive linemen already, but they don’t have pure pass rushers like Fiske.”

Fiske, although somewhat undersized at 297 pounds, has been incredibly productive throughout his collegiate career. Over the past two years, he has 101 tackles, 12 sacks and two forced fumbles with two different schools (WMU and FSU).

Cleveland’s top needs could change come April if it has yet another active free agency, but landing Worthy and Fiske would certainly seem like a win as of now.
