Shock jock Kyle Sandilands left listeners confused when he stormed out of his radio program after just 11 minutes following an argument with his co-host over a very controversial topic.
The 52-year-old became upset after Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 48, downplayed the seriousness of COVID-19, accusing her of changing her opinion over the years.
Sandilands then shocked his team by declaring “I’m going home” before walking off set, with executive producer Pedro Vitola confirming Sandilands had left the building.
“Well, that escalated quickly,” Jackie ‘O’ said.
“What’s happening today? I’m telling you this full moon, it messes with people.”
While it was difficult to understand exactly what the pair were saying due to constant censoring, it appears the conversation was sparked after NSW Premier Chris Minns was forced to cancel his appearance on the show after testing positive for the virus on Tuesday morning.
The odd incident comes less than one week after the pair inked the biggest radio deal in Australian history, re-signing for another 10 years with the pair set to take home more than $200 million.
The Kyle and Jackie O Show, which is based in Sydney on the Australian Radio Network, is Australia’s No. 1 radio program.
The pair are rumoured to be paid $8 million a year but the new deal includes a base salary, a percentage share of revenue and sign-on bonuses mainly made up of shares.
