Kuntz: Hoeneß-Kritik "extrem" kränkend und "fachlich falsch"

Der zweimalige Europameister-Trainer Stefan Kuntz nimmt Thomas Tuchel gegen die Kritik von Uli Hoeneß in Schutz und hat Verständnis für die emotionale Reaktion.

Stefan Kuntz hat im Streit zwischen Thomas Tuchel und Uli Hoeneß Verständnis für seinen Trainerkollegen gezeigt. „Thomas fühlt sich schon die ganze Zeit angegriffen bei den Bayern und persönlich attackiert. Dass er dann so reagiert, wenn etwas fachlich falsch ist, muss man ihm vielleicht zugestehen“, sagte der ehemalige U21-Nationalcoach bei Welt-TV.

Der Münchner Ehrenpräsident Hoeneß hatte Tuchel den Willen abgesprochen, Talente zu entwickeln und behauptet, stattdessen habe er stets Zukäufe gefordert. Der frühere Torjäger Kuntz, Europameister als Spieler 1996 und zweimal als Trainer der U21, findet das überzogen.

Sicher habe Tuchel im vergangenen Sommer „ein bisschen zu viel rumgemosert“, sagte Kuntz. Hoeneß’ Kritik aber sei „etwas, das einen Trainer extrem in der Ehre kränkt“ – und überdies falsch.

“Ich kann mich an Schürrle und Holtby erinnern in Mainz, dann haben wir Weigl gehabt in Dortmund, Diaby und Nkunku bei Paris St. Germain – die Kritik ist ja fachlich nicht richtig”, betonte Kuntz. Darauf hätte Tuchel verweisen sollen, ergänzte er, um den Streit gar nicht erst so eskalieren zu lassen. “Das wäre die beste Lösung gewesen.”

Den neuen Münchner Wunschkandidaten Ralf Rangnick hält Kuntz durchaus für einen geeigneten Tuchel-Nachfolger. „Wenn man sich für Ralf entscheidet, muss man ihn mehr machen lassen als man es bei Bayern bisher von der Trainerposition gewohnt war“, gab er zu bedenken und ergänzte: „Wenn man sich darauf einlässt, kann man sehr viel Spaß haben.“
