Not that we needed it, but West Aussies have another reason to head to their favourite island destination this summer.
Popular ice cream store Kuld Creamery are opening a pop-up venue on the shores of Rottnest on Thursday, bringing their range of eclectic flavours to beach-goers until April.
Located at The Basin, the adorable van will be dishing out some of their classic craft flavours, such as carrot cake and chocolate fudge brownie, as well as an extra special scoop: quokka traxx.

Owners Mati and Kaitlyn Kuld, who originally hail from Toronto, reveal this curious addition is created with homemade peanut butter cups, fudge swirl and vanilla bean ice cream. It’s their take on the famous North American ice cream known as Moose Tracks.
“We’ve always dreamt about how amazing it would be to have a Kuld location at Rotto and to see this come to fruition is really exciting,” Mati said.

“The Basin is a must-visit beach spot when you’re on the island, so being able to share our favourite ice cream flavours and baked goodies with Rottnest holidaymakers and day trippers, overlooking the pristine waters of this natural swimming pool is extremely special to us.”
The duo currently have a store in Fremantle, with plans to open another in Northbridge, on the corner of Roe and William street, next month.

Their range of ice creams, which contain homemade cookies, fudge, brownies and jams made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients, are inspired by both their love of Perth as well as their North American heritage.
Of the Rottnest pop-up, Kaitlyn said there will be a range of dairy and vegan options available which are perfect post-dip or pre-cycling snack.
And if you’re wondering what their favourite is amongst their Willy Wonka array of delicious flavours, it’s lemon butter with almond poppy seed biscuit.
