This is the horrifying moment a pensioner was attacked in his own home by a masked thug who hit him over the head with an unknown object.
A man wearing a face covering barged his way into the 76-year-old’s home in Nottingham on Monday after the victim answered the door.
The pensioner was pushed into the living room and fell to the floor before he was hit by the intruder.
The burglar stole the man’s wallet, which contained cash and bank cards, before he ran out of the property on Vincent Gardens, Hyson Green.
The victim suffered a lump to his head and an injury to his finger during the attack which happened at around 4.35pm.

Police have now released CCTV of the suspect that they urgently want to track down.
He was seen running from an alleyway from Vincent Gardens onto Randal Street, across Craven Road and then onto Birkin Avenue before he headed down a path.
Detectives are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry including analysing CCTV, dashcam, and doorbell camera footage in the area and carrying out forensic inquiries.
Reassurance patrols have also been stepped up in the area as detectives progress with their investigation.
The suspect is described as white, of tall and slim build. He was wearing a black hooded top, baseball cap, distinctive khaki-coloured trousers, and trainers.
Detective Inspector Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: ‘This kind of offence is thankfully very rare, but we are treating this incident extremely seriously and we are working hard to track down the man responsible.
‘We are calling on the public to help us find this violent offender. We don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

‘This was a particularly nasty attack on a vulnerable victim in his own home which left him with injuries. His 96-year-old mother was also in the property at the time.
‘Think how you’d feel if this was your mother, father, grandmother, grandfather or member of your family who had been targeted in this way.
‘We appreciate the footage we’ve released showing the suspect isn’t the clearest and that his face is concealed, but we believe someone out there will know who he is.
‘He is wearing a distinctive face covering during the attack and we hope someone may recognise him from the clothing he is wearing or the way he runs from the scene.’
DI Berryman added: ‘We understand this incident will be concerning for the community but there is nothing to suggest there is any wider threat to the public.
‘I would like to reassure people that this is being treated as an isolated incident, however as a precaution, reassurance patrols have been increased in the area. If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our uniformed officers.
‘Support is being offered to the victim and safeguarding measures have been put in place.
‘Our inquiries to trace the man responsible are very much ongoing and I would ask anybody with information who hasn’t yet come forward, or anyone who has CCTV, mobile phone, dashcam or doorbell footage which could assist our investigation to please come forward.
‘Were you in the Bobbers Mill area around the time of this incident? Did you see or hear anything suspicious? Do you recognise the man in the video? Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.’
Anyone with information or footage is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 456 of February 12, 2024. You can alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
