Scotland on hit list for huge snow wall dumping up to 4 inches per hour next week

Brrr! New weather maps suggest a snowy blast is coming to parts of the UK next week.

According to WX Charts, some locations may see as much as four inches of snow per hour if temperatures stay chilly enough.

The north-east and parts of the north-west could turn into winter wonderlands at the end of next week. The map for Saturday, February 24, indicates these areas are due for a snowfall.

Scotland is also gearing up for a heavy dumping of the white stuff that evening. Even Greater Manchester might find itself under a fresh white blanket come morning, reports the Mirror.

The Met Office suggests that chances of snowfall will rise from February 26 onward, warning: “During late February and early March, there is a higher than normal likelihood of northerly or easterly winds dominating, which would increase the chance of colder and drier than average conditions. Spells of milder and wetter weather are still likely to occur at times, especially in the south and southwest, with the potential for snow on the boundary between milder and colder air.”
