The New York Knicks’ physical style of play was once again an issue for the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night. The result? A 130-121 victory by the Knicks to take a 2-0 series lead.
New York fans love everything about this current Knicks team. They play a physical brand of basketball that becomes a major issue for opponents, especially at Madison Square Garden. But are some players taking that physicality too far?
Knicks guard and rising star Josh Hart appeared to get away with a pretty dangerous play in New York’s Game 2 victory over the Pacers.
Hart shoved Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton in the back during an Indiana fast break. He somehow got away with it, too. Hart could’ve seriously injured Haliburton, though, if the Pacers star lost his footing and took a fall.
“Josh Hart just shoved Haliburton in the back with both hands and no ref called anything at all. Y’all would want Embiid ejected for this,” one NBA fan said on social media.
Check this out:
NBA refs have to get a handle on this. Josh Hart can’t be shoving players in the back and not have a foul called against him.
Hopefully, the Game 3 officiating crew cracks down on the Knicks’ physical brand of basketball.
