The View host Sara Haines shared a cryptic video on social media about not ‘settling’ in life just hours after she missed a taping of the much-loved ABC program.
Sara, 46, usually sits on the panel for the popular daytime show all week, but her seat was noticeably empty on Thursday morning as moderator Whoopi Goldberg told viewers at the beginning of the episode: ‘Sara is out today,’ and Joy Behar claimed that she ‘didn’t feel good.’
The comedian also joked that the mother-of-three was ‘over PMS’ as Whoopi, 68, admitted: ‘We all miss her but she hopefully will be back in the next couple of days,’ before quickly moving the conversation along.
A few hours later, Sara took to Instagram and posted a rather serious selfie video in which she encouraged her 406,000 followers to ‘change’ anything that is ‘weighing you down,’ and captioned the post with a white heart emoji.

Sara was noticeably absent from the panel on Thursday as Whoopi, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin appeared together
Dressed in a gray striped chunky knit sweater and a black roll neck, Sara had a full face of makeup as she began the clip by saying: ‘I don’t know who needs to hear this but I want to talk about choosing your life versus settling for your life.
‘As we go along there are often times we find ourselves in situations, a lot of the times it’s relationships that you know aren’t serving you.
‘Maybe it’s a romantic relationship where it’s just not gonna be the one that lasts long term, and out of pure fear, fatigue and all the other things, we avoid doing anything about it,’ the blond star continued.
‘Well, now, how that story looks is you’re choosing it because once you know better, you have to do better. And it’s not the big stuff like, “Oh I would choose to be a big Hollywood movie star and I’m not getting that,” it’s not that kind of thing.
‘If you want your life to look a certain way, you have to create and make the steps and changes to walk toward that vision because if you don’t, you are settling for the life given to you and not making it your own,’ she stated.
Sara finished the motivational video by asking her fans: ‘What kind of things can you change today that are weighing you down?’
Her followers were quick to comment on the post as one person wrote: ‘I appreciate your wonderful advice and positive attitude. But girl it’s a lot easier said then done.’
‘You are so real, and sensible and kind. Thanks for this today!’ another said, while a third fan commented:
The mother-of-three has been involved in some rather heated debates on the show lately
Sara sat on the panel on Wednesday and listened to co-host Whoopi describe childbirth as ‘passing a bowling ball through a straw’
Someone else speculated: ‘Please don’t tell me this is an exit post,’ while another wrote: ‘Hope you are ok? They said u were sick today… but joy def alluded to something else… Hope all is well (sic).’
Alyssa, 34, who is the only co-host to have liked the video so far, perhaps prompted the speculation when she told the panel: ‘Got to stand up for my girl!’ as they discussed her absence.
As the ladies took their seat at the table, Whoopi announced: ‘Hello and welcome to The View. Have a seat, everybody. Sara is out today. We all miss her but she hopefully will be back in the next couple of days.’
Joy then revealed that Sara ‘didn’t feel good,’ and joked about it being hormonal as she added: ‘She’s fine. I would say PMS but she’s over it!’
‘Do you remember those days?’ Whoopi said as Alyssa chimed in and blurted out: ‘She’s not over PMS. She’s like 42!’ to which Joy replied: ‘That’s right.’
Sara’s absence comes after she was embroiled in two rather heated debates with Sunny, 55, last week as they discussed IVF and whether or not an embryo is viable and can be classed as a ‘human life’.
